Police are searching for two men who assaulted and robbed a 76-year-old woman at a retirement home in Margate last Thursday.

“The woman said she was about to go to bed at around 10pm when she came upon two men in her bedroom. The men tied her up and demanded money. They then began to strike her in the face, causing bruising,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.
The robbers fled, taking with them some of her belongings. She was admitted to hospital for treatment.
Upon investigation, police found that entry had been gained through a broken window. No arrests have been made as yet.
