Man to be sentenced today for brutal murder of herdboy

Sentencing will be handed down in the Pietermaritzburg High Court today.

Malwande Samo Deyi (11)  went to look for livestock at the grazing land in the Mlolweni area in Harding on April 7 anddid not return home.

His lifeless body was found that afternoon near Mthavuna river.

Nkosivumile Sincuba (32) was arrested a week later, thanks to the assistance of the community. According to police spokesman, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele, police also found a skull hidden in the nearby bushes.

Sincuba made several court appearances in the Harding Magistrates’ Court and was held in custody.

The matter was transferred to Pietermaritzburg High Court and he was yesterday (Wednesday) convicted of murder. He will appear in the Pietermaritzburg High Court today (Thursday) for sentencing.
