Paddle out at Shelly Beach to raise awareness of the global plight of sharks

Everyone from paddlers, surfers, divers and fishermen to conservationists and other interested parties is urged to unite to raise ‘on the ground’ awareness of marine conservation and to change public perceptions of sharks.

This year’s Paddle Out for Sharks and Ocean Conservation will be held at Sonny Evans Small Craft Harbour in Shelly Beach on Saturday, June 9 at 7am.

Everyone from paddlers, surfers, divers and fishermen to conservationists and other interested parties is urged to unite to raise ‘on the ground’ awareness of marine conservation and the global plight of sharks and to change public perceptions of sharks.

The event will also be to mark World Oceans Day on June 8 which is a global celebration, with hundreds of events around the world celebrating our oceans.

There are available spaces on the boats if anyone is keen to book their spot, free of charge.
