The sections included the treasury department, IT unit, corporate services, mayoralty and communications department.

Ntlemo Projects director, Sam Ntlemo, said he had been very excited about this initiative as it would enable the pupils to make better choices about their future careers.

Speaking to the group of 20 girls, Mr Ntlemo said: “Today marks the beginning of a new era; make good choices and don’t make the same mistakes we made. The key is to respect your teachers and parents.”

Mr Ntlemo encouraged the group to thank God daily and remember nothing is impossible with the correct attitude.

“When I look at you I see future leaders, engineers, doctors and pilots,” he said.

Gift Luphuzi of Standard Bank also encouraged the pupils to know their values.

RNM mayor Cynthia Mqwebu warned the young girls about the dangers of peer pressure, not having the right attitude and alcohol abuse.

The mayor also thanked Standard Bank and Ntlemo Projects for caring about pupils in RNM communities.
