Detectives at Port Shepstone SAPS are investigating after a man distracted the cashier at a fresh produce outlet at Shelly Beach on May 22 at around 4.15pm and helped himself to a large amount of cash.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said shopkeepers are advised to be on their guard and to warn fellow employees.
“He pretends to exchange notes with the cashier and, while the cashier is checking, he snatches money from the cash drawer without anyone noticing,” she said.
The person in the attached picture may be able to assist in the investigation.
