Accident on R102 Old Main Road and Bram Fischer Street in Scottburgh leaves 4 seriously injured

The collision resulted in one of the vehicles being pushed off the road and landing about 20m down an embankment.

A case of reckless and negligent driving has been registered at the Scottburgh Saps after two vehicles collided at the intersection of the R102 Old Main Road and Bram Fischer Street last Friday afternoon.

“One vehicle was travelling south on the R102 Old Main Road and the other vehicle, which was approaching from the opposite direction, turned right to enter Bram Fischer Street and the vehicles collided,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.

The collision resulted in one of the vehicles being pushed off the road and landing about 20m down an embankment.

Not only were both vehicles badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene, the drivers, as well as two passengers in the vehicle that went down the embankment, all sustained serious injuries and were seen to by paramedics at the scene before being taken to GJ Crookes Hospital by an ambulance.

The case is being investigated by Detective Warrant officer Salomie Pillay of the Scottburgh Saps Detective Service.
