Touched by an Angel throws tea party for charity

The organisation hopes to touch the lives of the underprivileged and less fortunate.

Wonderful music, great entertainment, raffles, cake sales and jumble sales were some of the attractions at the Touched by an Angel tea party at Protea Park hall last Saturday.

The Port Shepstone women’s organisation, which focuses on community work and charity drives, is hoping to host more fund-raisers for local charities. Proceeds from this tea party will go to many feeding schemes. The women of Touched by an Angel hope to touch the lives of the underprivileged and less fortunate.

Chairman of the organisation, Cookie Basudeo, told the Herald that she and her members always pull out all the stops to support causes close to their hearts. “There were plenty of smiles, laughter, fabulous music and delicious cakes. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and, more importantly, we did our bit for charity.”
