Destitute mother of six in Umzumbe needs house
The Ntombela family lives in a mud rondavel with a leaking roof.
All that mother of six Zibuyile Ntombela from Msunduzi in Umzumbe wants is to live in a proper house with her children, aged between seven and 26.
Due to family conflict, she had to leave her home and move to another area, where she now hopes to find land to build her own home.
Ntombela currently lives in a one-room mud rondavel with her older children. Neighbours have helped her settle in.

The heart-broken mother said three of her younger children were removed from her care and are currently living in a home in Hammarsdale. They only visit during longer school holidays.
“I last saw them in December and they went back in January. I want them to live with me as I am their mother, but after what they experienced they had to be taken away so that they could get counselling as they were not coping.”
Ntombela would like them to live with her permanently, but their living conditions are not good. “When it rains we don’t sleep, as water pours through the roof.”
Her dream is to live with all her children under one roof in a proper house. But this dream is out of reach as she is only able to work casual jobs to provide food for the family, as her older children are not working.
She also added that she would also appreciate counselling as she is struggling to cope.
