The cats have been fed, sterilised and looked after over the years by the wonderful women who volunteer their time and assistance to Hibiscus Animal Welfare.

However, when the cats’ owner had to move out of his home in Sea Park earlier this year, the welfare organisation carefully trapped and moved all the cats to the safety of Terence’s cattery.

Over the last few months, Terence has been hard at work, fixing and extending the cattery to enable it to eventually house 100 cats.

Elaine Steabler of Hibiscus Animal Welfare is thankful to Terence, who has gone out of his way to care for the cats.

“The cattery is truly wonderful and the cats have lots of space,” said Margi Fletcher of Hibiscus Animal Welfare.

“We have tried to make them as comfortable as possible; the main concern is that they don’t get out of the cattery,” said Terence.

He is also working to extend his kennels and any donation of building materials such as brick, sand, stone will be greatly appreciated.

Terence is always taking in unwanted animals. He is currently bottle feeding 12 rescued puppies and has many gorgeous dogs looking for forever homes.

The registered non-profit animal rescue and shelter based in Hibberdene has been in operation for the last seven years.

Terence said ‘Myrtle’ their rescue vehicle. is officially ‘kaput’ and he is looking for a run-about vehicle to help with the increasing demand for animals in need of being rescued.

He is also looking for an ice-cream cart, as he plans in January to cycle from Plettenberg Bay to Hibberdene, stopping to do talks at schools.

Food is always needed to keep all the hungry mouths fed. If you can help, contact Terence at 073 6947934 or Margi at 079 3129870.
