Quiet day for switchboard operators as work continues to fix Telkom landline issue

It's been the quietest Mondays of their lives at the newspaper.

WORK on a Telkom line has resulted in landline phones being down for hours.

Anyone trying to get through to the South Coast Herald will not have been able to do so for most of the day.

We’re sorry about that.

No one can say just when the problem will be fixed, or how far reaching the issue is.

Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

In the meantime the Herald switchboard operators are going to take the afternoon off.

Angel Mkhize is heading out for a manicure and Bev Copeland is nipping down to the beach to catch a few rays on a chilly winter day.

Just kidding.

They’re eagerly anticipating the fault being fixed and being able to field your calls.
