Port Shepstone SAPS give crèche a fresh coat of paint for Mandela Day

Parents and children were thrilled to observe the policemen and women revamping their centre and giving their 67 minutes for a good cause.

In celebration of Nelson Mandela’s legacy, the Port Shepstone Saps rolled up their sleeves for ‘Mandela Day’ when they repaired and painted the premises of Masibambisane Edu-Care Centre in Murchison yesterday (Wednesday).

Parents and children were thrilled to observe the policemen and women revamping their centre and giving their 67 minutes for a good cause. Children were provided with board games and posters for the crèche. The men and women in blue also repaired the jungle gym.

Brigadier Sandra Nala, station commander for Port Shepstone, with her management team and Saps Women’s Network as well as Men for Change Champions, handed over food packs, stationery and clothes and provided the children with lunch.

Brigadier Nala thanked the officers for their support in this project and looks forward to being part of future initiatives to uplift the community.
