Both the local drivers took part in two classes. In the qualifying rounds to determine grid positions for the finals, Ashleigh O’Reilly was on a winning streak and top qualified after three rounds in short course trucks, with Nimrod Maritz finishing in second position.

In the ‘1/8’ electric buggy class, both had fierce competition with Nimrod qualifying fifth and Ashleigh sixth to determine final grid positions.

On the last day of the meeting, they had three finals in each class with the best two out of the three to count.

Ashleigh and Nimrod had good competition from Durban driver, Richard Duckham in the short course truck class but Nimrod took top honours followed by Ashleigh in second place.

In the ‘1/8’ electric buggy event, Nimrod really got the feeling for the track and improved a lot on his Saturday’s performance and, after three rounds, finished in second place. Ashleigh had problems and could not improve managing only ninth place.
