Pastor speaks on trials and tribulations at Stonecroft Ministries’ monthly meeting

Guests at Stonecroft Ministries’ monthly tea at Mbango Valley recently were treated to delightful violin playing by Selna Pretorius, accompanied by Greta Bredell on the piano.

Ria Hackland of Umtentweni demonstrated packing a picnic basket, whether decadent or healthy, a lunch box for work or school or just a delicious outdoor feast. Not forgetting linen serviettes which work out more economical than paper serviettes. No matter what is packed, she suggested, the end result must be pretty because we ‘eat with our eyes.’

Guest speaker, Pastor Maggie Moonsamy from the Assembly of God Church in Marburg, spoke of her affliction with polio at the age of 12 and her ready acceptance at that young age of the Lord as her saviour. “Many trials and tribulations have since been encountered but none could dissuade me in my quest to save souls. Getting out of bed in the morning and looking for people who need help is the most natural thing for me,” explained Pastor Moonsamy.

She continues to visit hospitals and, when patients’ family and friends arrive, she connects with them too, thereby reaching further in her mission.

A jet-lagged yet enthusiastic Maggie had returned the previous night from the USA to where she had been invited by the Boston Global Newspaper and New York Times to talk about women’s month in South Africa.

Instead of talking only about women power there, she focused more on the mental and physical abuse of men by their wives and partners.
