Snazzy sports cars set to ‘show and shine’ this weekend

The event has attracted over 100 Porsche owners.

The South Coast will this weekend welcome the 32nd Porsche Club Parade, as the Porsche Club of South Africa celebrates its 59th anniversary.

This is in itself quite remarkable as Porsche recently celebrated its 70th anniversary, so Porsche has had a long history in South Africa.

The event has attracted more than 100 Porsche owners, who will live it up at San Lameer this weekend.

The organising committee has nominated the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) as the charity to be supported this year, and any funds raised will be donated to the institute.

Kay Robertson, marketing and events general manager at Ugu South Coast Tourism, said the biennial event sees the coming together of all four Porsche Clubs in South Africa for an event at which the owners can experience and enjoy the performance of their cars in a controlled and safe environment.

“The weekend is a combination of driving and social events, the rekindling of friendships as well as the forging of new ones. This is brought about by a love of the marque, and an appreciation of the technology,” she said.

Take note of the driving events, as well as the ‘Show and Shine’ which are open to the public:
