Podium finish for South Coast athletes

Amone Rood and Ziacque Verheem will take part in the South African champs in August.

Two young athletes from CKS Athletics Club on the South Coast took part in the Southern African Christian Schools’ Sport Association’s cross country event held at Kanonkop, Stellenbosch recently.

Both Amone Rood (U13) and Ziacque Verheem (U9) placed first in their age category and both qualified to attend the South African champs which will be held in Bethlehem on August 1.

Congratulations to Amone and Ziacque for their outstanding achievements and for representing their club. They are both wished well for the next event.

Sugan Naidoo

Senior reporter Sugan Naidoo is a true son of the South Coast soil. He was to the newspaper industry born, his late father working at the South Coast Herald back in the days when black and white photographs were still being used. Sugan has been with Caxton for close to three decades, having started as a weekend photographer, straight out of school.
