A head-on collision on the R61 at Leisure Bay last night (Saturday) has claimed the lives of four people.

According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Shawn Herbst, reports from the scene indicate that a light motor vehicle and a light delivery vehicle were involved in the accident, which resulted in the light motor vehicle bursting into flames.
Four people were declared dead at the scene, while a fifth was found to be in a critical condition and required Advanced Life Support intervention.
Once stabilised by a Med-Evac paramedic, the patient was transported by Netcare 911 ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
All necessary authorities were on scene to investigate.
