‘Huff and puff’ – all for for a good cause

The runners, cyclists, walkers, prams and even dogs were a grand sight.

LOCALS and holidaymakers helped raise funds for the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC) at the 5/10km Fun Run/Walk/Cycle event at the Uvongo Fishing Pier on Monday this week.

Organised by South Coast Striders runner Deborah Berridge, the event attracted 161 people. Deborah, who has hosted several fund-raising fun runs for Pink Drive, has now selected CHOC as her new charity of choice. From this event, she raised R4418.

Despite the inclement weather, the runners, cyclists, walkers, prams and even dogs were a grand sight to see. The well-supported event proved that South Coasters were happy to huff and puff in aid of a good cause.

CHOC is one of three new Comrades Amabeadibeadi charities for the next three years along with Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust and Hospice South Africa, which join the Community Chests of Pietermaritzburg and Durban, Wildlands Conservation Trust and World Vision SA.
