A relative of an 86-year-old woman whose body was found by municipal employees in Gamalakhe on May 17 has been arrested for her murder.

She had been reported missing earlier that month.
Police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka said the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Mlungisi Jabe, had received information which had led him to arrest a 38-year-old woman on September 14.
The suspect appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court on September 17 and again last Tuesday, charged with murder and defeating the ends of justice.
Bail was denied and the case was postponed to October 31.
