Melting pot of cultures at Scottburgh Saps
The cultural day was such a success that it is hoped to make it an annual celebration.
Scottburgh Saps celebrated their first cultural day last Friday. It was such a success that they hope to make this an annual celebration.
It included several Saps members from different cultures coming together to share a bit about their culture with one another and to give others a taste of some of their delicacies.

It was a bitter-sweet day as it was also the last day at work for now retired cop, Captain Vincent Pandarum.
The members gathered in their conference room and laid a table with different cultural foods, including steamed bread, curries, koeksusters and more.

The welcome was given by the station commander, Colonel Ralph Ruiters, who then spoke a bit about his culture, followed by Sergeant Christopher Mahlawe and Captain Pandarum, both of whom delved into their own cultures and shared some knowledge.
Most of the Saps members also made an effort to wear traditional attire to show others what they would normally wear for special occasions.
