Road accident victims register for compensation

Last Friday, the campaign kicked off at Port Shepstone Regional Hospital before proceeding to the Uvongo Town Hall on Saturday.

SCORES of road accident victims registered for compensation from the Road Accident Fund during the roadshow held at Uvongo Town Hall last Saturday.

The community outreach event attracted a large crown which packed the hall for registration and to check on the progress of their claims with the Road Accident Fund.

Last Friday, the campaign kicked off at Port Shepstone Regional Hospital before proceeding to the Uvongo Town Hall on Saturday.

Road Accident Fund acting chief operations officer, Dineo Thabede said they embarked on this community outreach in an effort make their services easily accessible to the victims of road accidents, so that they can lodge their claims for compensation.

“We assist the victims of road accidents by compensating them and we help them claim from the fund. We have organised this community outreach event so that we can take our services to our people,” said Ms Thabede.

Road accident victims gathered at Uvongo Town Hall last Saturday to register their claims with Road Accident Fund.

Ray Nkonyeni Municipality mayor, Councillor Cynthia Mqwebu, was accompanied by her deputy, Ronnie Nair.

Cllr Mqwebu said the government was making its services available closer to where people lived.
