About art

The Artists’ Gallery in Ramsgate was a hive of activity this past weekend. It hosted an art demonstration last Saturday, at which art enthusiasts were treated to a morning of watching, gleaning and learning from resident artist Diane Erasmus.

She shared tips and techniques regarding painting with oils on canvas using brushes and palette knife to a full house.

The following day saw the artists who make up the unique gallery hosting a special sale of their works. Art buyers, collectors, fellow artists, other art gallery owners and friends gathered to enjoy a glass of wine and fruity iced tea, in the gallery itself and on their rather infamous stoep outside the beautiful gallery space.

Stories, ideas, art techniques and wonderful sales were in the order of the day and, judging by the steady stream of visitors, art is indeed alive and thriving on the South Coast.
