WELL done to Chantelle Donald who has done herself and the community proud yet again. Chantelle has received glowing recognition for her labours of love – keeping local beaches clean by picking up all garbage that she finds. Her recent video of all the litter she has collected and sorted earned her top honours as the September winner in Zigzag magazine.

Pet poisoned
Sadly a large dog from Abingdon Road died after being poisoned last weekend. Please be aware of this and make sure your dogs are kept safe.
Cable complication
Telkom lines and lack of internet connections caused many frustrations for 039 numbers last weekend. It is believed to have been caused by a fibre break at the Mzimkhulu bridge.

Condolences to Gabi Hill and family on the recent loss of her uncle, Otto Johanson.
Well done
Southport youngsters Preston Nichols and Richard Swanepoel (10 to 11 age group) and Travis Campher of Pumula (12 to 13 category) received bronze medals last weekend at the SA Development Karate Championships. Well done and keep up the great work, boys!

On the mend
Margaret Douglass of Chakas Road suffered a nasty fall at home when she slipped on some water. Thank goodness her friend Joan Hamilton was around to take her to the hospital. Poor Margaret hurt her eye and is in for a ‘shiner’. Get better soon.

Cecelia rocks
Would you believe that Liz Foster’s mom, Cecelia Bonandrini (88 years young) was seen dancing the night away to the music of ‘Billy the Skit’ at Port Shepstone Country Club last Friday? You can’t keep a good woman down, go gran.
Party time
Happy birthday to John Saunders, who celebrated with special friends and family on October 7. Tarryn Schlehmeyer also celebrated her birthday with family and friends last Sunday. Birthday wishes go to Allison Keys and Michael Hanson (8th), Roger Paine (11th), Danie Swanepoel and Sean van Tonder (12th) and Chrissy Wilson on the 14th.
