SPCA helped by ‘angels’
A few weeks ago the LSC SPCA's storage facility for dog food was broken into and their full supply of pet food was stolen.
To help prevent any further burglaries taking place at the Lower South Coast SPCA in Uvongo, Port Shepstone Lions and Roll A Fold/Trellidor Shelly Beach recently donated a security gate, valued at R12 500, to the society.

“The community (including Lions Clubs) immediately came to their rescue with donations of several bags of dog food. Lion Johann du Plessis, owner of Roll A Fold is thanked for his very generous sponsorship,” said Denis Meyer of Port Shepstone Lions.
Lion Johann, who has been a member of the Lions for 20 years, said he assisted where he could ‘as he is a Lion’.
Mr Meyer said that Sheppie Lions will also donate a further R5 000 worth of dog food, which will be supplied when needed.
The Lion Ladies will be adding an additional R1 000 to this donation from monies that they raised through their market project.
Scott Kvalsvig, chairman of the SPCA committee, thanked everyone who has generously donated towards the society.
The SPCA is needing paint, wire mesh or clear view fencing to complete their revamp of their kennels.
