Teams that took part included Sun City, Meropa Casino and Entertainment World, The Maslow Hotel, The Carousel Casino, Carnival City, Boardwalk Casino and Hotel, Sibaya Casino and Entertainment World, Flamingo Casino and the ‘new kids on the block’, Time Square.

Sun City and The Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort’s teams battle it out on the volleyball courts.

Organiser, Nontokozo Vumisa, said the tournament was a huge success. “As much as the games get competitive, they also serve as a social event for all our casinos, as we are scattered across the country. We get a chance to meet and get to know each other better.”

She added the tournament was one of the biggest employee sporting tournaments in the country.

Carnival City and Flamingo Casino’s netball teams compete for victory.

“There were six sporting codes: darts, golf, pool, volleyball, soccer and netball. The Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort defended its status as hosts with pride, emphatically winning silverware in darts, golf and soccer and being runners-up in volleyball and pool.

Moses Yende of The Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort stays focused on his game of darts.

“Tournaments like these are a key part in the wellness of employees as it keeps them fit and healthy effortlessly. This speaks to what we all love and judging by the passion that was shown there, one cannot argue about how much we all love sport. From here on the tournament can only get bigger and better.”
