Tyler and Wian compete in karate champs
This is a wonderful opportunity for the talented youngsters.
Two students from the Suid-Natal Karate Club have been selected to represent South Africa at the 9th Commonwealth Karate Championships at the Olive Convention Centre ice arena in Durban from November 28 to December 2.

Tyler Hogan will be competing in the championship division, which is for karateka aged 14 years and older. He will be competing in the cadet (14/15 years) kata category for elite karateka as a Protea.
This is the second commonwealth tournament for Tyler, who previously competed in the Commonwealth Karate Championships held in India in 2015.
Wian de Beer will be competing in the Commonwealth Cup which is for all athletes from seven to 13 years. He will compete in the kumite 10/11 years under 45kg category.
Junior athletes aged from seven to 13 years will compete with Karate South Africa colours.
“This is an excellent achievement and opportunity for both karateka and I wish them all the best,” said Ugu Karate chairman, Sensei Coenie Vrey.
