Sheppie Snippets: Exciting comedy show comes to town

The latest show, entitled 'Whipped', is sure to have you in stitches.

Hope on the Move is an NPO based in Port Shepstone that prides itself on providing assistance to organisations and individuals in need to help alleviate poverty, illness and other social injustices. To continue with their commitment to the community, members will be holding an exciting comedy rendition by the ever-popular cast of the Dingalings. Their latest show, entitled ‘Whipped’, is sure to have you in stitches and is not for the faint of heart.

The show features the talents of Henry Ramkisson and Koobeshen Naidoo, who are known for their roles in Imbewu and the movie Keeping Up With The Kandasamys and will be staged at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre this Friday, November 2 at 8pm. Be warned – it carries a PG16 age restriction.

Police auction

Port Shepstone Saps will hold a public auction of unclaimed goods and boarded state property/equipment this Friday, November 2. The auction will take place at Port Shepstone Saps, lot 341 Court House Road at 9.30am. Viewing is from 9am.

A refundable deposit of R200 is required. Buyers of television sets must produce a valid television licence.

Comedy show

The South African Hindu Sewa Samaj, a non-profit organisation, is holding a fund-raiser comedy show ‘A Bash with Tash’ at Andhra Sabha Hall on November 18 at 2pm. Tickets cost R100 per person and are available at Hair and Beauty on the Ridge and Sheppie Green Grocer in Marburg. Diwali

A Diwali show will be held at the Marburg Sports Complex this Saturday, November 3 from 5pm till late. A float procession will take place through the Port Shepstone CBD from 9am.

Diwali, the festival of lights, will be celebrated on November 6 and 7. Looking forward to the festivities are Kamita Kisson (left) and Sonali Paramunsee of Port Shepstone. They invite everyone to the Marburg Sports Complex this Saturday, November 3 where the Diwali show will be held from 5pm.

Ray Nkonyeni Municipality has advised South Coasters that the emergency control number 039 6825555 for the fire station and law enforcement is currently not available. It is believed that this is due to cables having been stolen. The community can use 072 8467349 for any emergency service.
