Suspected drunken driving causes two-vehicle crash at Park Rynie traffic lights

The driver was arrested and charged.

A man was arrested and charged with suspicion of drunken driving and reckless and negligent driving after an accident at the Park Rynie traffic lights at 7pm last Friday.

Members from the Scottburgh Saps attended the scene and made the arrest.

Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision with the accused sustaining minor injuries and the other driver remaining unhurt,” said Port Shepstone Saps communications officer, Captain Petros Mpinge.

The accused appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning and was released on bail. Blood drawn will be sent to the forensic laboratory for testing.

He is expected to make his next court appearance on November 26.
