Diwali show lights up Marburg

The highlight of the evening was the massive firework display.

The Port Shepstone Hindu Cultural Federation organised another spectacular Diwali show at the Marburg Sports Complex last Saturday.

The show was preceded by a colourful float parade through the streets of the Port Shepstone CBD before a tasty lunch was served.

Afterwards, all roads led to the Marburg Sports Complex where the Diwali show kicked off later that afternoon.

Show-goers were treated to great north and south Indian music from Durban band, San Productions, but the highlight of the evening was the massive firework display.

Joining in the Diwali parade through the Port Shepstone CBD are Riqhiel and Tianna Bechan of Marburg.

The federation thanks everyone who helped make this Diwali parade and show possible.

Diwali will be celebrated this Wednesday, November 7.

Jayshree and Ramesh Hariparsad of Marburg enjoy the music at the Diwali show which took place at the Marburg Sports Complex last Saturday.

Celebrations include setting out clay oil lamps, hanging lights, enjoying firework displays, feasting with family and giving gifts.
