As part of the ongoing Ray Nkonyeni Municipality mayoral izimbizo, municipal leaders conducted a series of activities to help communities within the municipality.

Clean-up campaigns, an educational blitz and the handing over over of new projects, said RNM mayor Cynthia Mqwebu, were done to honour the president’s ‘Thuma Mina’, (send me) campaign.
According to the mayor, the campaign seeks to enhance the capacity of the state and promote leadership and partnerships throughout society.
The campaign started with the official opening of the Thokothe sports field concrete road and an oversight visit to Gcilima Clinic.
Councillors and officials from RNM rolled up their sleeves and conducted a clean-up of an illegal dumping site near the N2 in Murchison.
This was followed by a blitz at the Gamalakhe shopping centre and taxi rank, where they urged people to pay for municipal services.
A toilet paper making machine was also donated to a small business in the area.
In Umtentweni, a clean up and anti-littering campaign was launched yesterday at Umthunzi Hotel and Conference, followed by the cleaning of the streets in Tweni.
The day ended with the official opening of the tarred Commercial Road in Ward 20, followed by the Cluster 6 imbizo at Port Shepstone Civic Centre.
