Gary Govender (37) appeared in the Umzumbe Magistrate’s Court earlier today (Monday), charged with killing his wife, Mantombi Pearl Govender (39) in Hibberdene last week
The case was postponed, and he is expected to appear in court again next week.

He will remain in custody pending a formal bail application.
It is claimed that Mrs Govender (39) was with her husband outside Leisuredene Village when he fatally shot her in the head.
Police spokesman, Colonel Thembeka Mbele says Mr Govender reported the murder to the police, claiming that his wife had been shot by two unknown men.
Intensive police investigation linked him to the murder.

ORIGINAL STORY: November 8
A 39-year-old woman was shot and fatally wounded in Hibberdene last night at about 8.15pm.
It’s believed the woman is the wife of a former policeman.
