#SafetyFriday launched in Sheppie

Port Shepstone Crime Prevention and Ugu Cluster Operational Command Centre officers jointly conducted a stop and search operation under #SafetyFriday for the Festive Season in Port Shepstone last Friday.

Two people were arrested in Ryder Street for dealing in dagga and appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on Monday this week. The case was postponed for further investigation.

While conducting a search at a tavern in Bazley Street, five knives were found abandoned.

The operation continued until 8pm.

“Ongoing operations and roadblocks which will be conducted within the Ugu Cluster and this will certainly make an impact on deterring criminals,” said police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge.
