To market, to market

This weekend’s community car boot market takes place at the Hibiscus Mall in Margate this Saturday (17th) from 8am to 1pm. Homemade arts and crafts as well as second hand good will be on sale. Movie magic

Margate Retirement Village screens classic movies once a month and these are gaining fast in the popularity stakes. This month’s film show at the Ronnie Baker Hall is that all-time favourite `Singing in the Rain’ starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. Make a movie date this Sunday (18th) at 2.30pm. Entrance is R5 which includes tea/coffee and biscuits.

There were 463 very disappointed classical music fans at Azalea Hall last Saturday – the bus transporting the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra broke down and the concert had to be cancelled. It was a first for the village having to break the news to the audience that there would not be a show. Good news is the orchestra will be back in the new year.
