Tweni Talk: Dancing duo rock to the top

Robyn-Lee Comins and friend Luca Meyer achieved championship for ‘Rock ’n Roll Couple’ and ‘Freestyle Couple’.

Proud parents Cecilia and Paul Comins congratulate daughter Robyn-Lee and friend Luca Meyer for achieving championship for ‘Rock ’n Roll Couple’ and ‘Freestyle Couple’ (in KZN). The girls have been training with registered teacher Talita Helberg and In Motion Dance Academy for the past four years and are the best of friends – as well as a dynamic dance duo. Don’t miss seeing them in action. The academy presents ‘The Greatest Show’ at Suid-Natal High on November 24. Tickets cost R70 per person. There are two shows – one at noon and another at 6pm.

In Motion Dance Academy members Robyn-Lee Comins (left) and Luca Meyer from Umtentweni recently achieved championship for ‘Rock ’n Roll Couple’ and ‘Freestyle Couple’ (in KZN).

Clever Candice

Cathy de Boer feels she has been blessed. Her daughter, Candice, who is studying for her PhD at the Chris Barnard Faculty at UCT, recently travelled to Sydney, Australia, for a world conference where she will present a talk entitled ‘Two step isolation procedure for exosome purification from blood’. Translated for readers like your scribe, it is biochemistry and stem cell development.

Diarise the date

Exciting news from Steph Bennett is that well-known local choir ‘The Golden Singers’ have been practising very hard for their Christmas programme, which promises to be an enjoyable experience. Diarise the show, which takes place at Our Lady of Fatima Church on December 5 at 5.30pm.

Bon voyage

Cilel and Frazer Smith are excitedly heading off to Europe and the UK, where there is a grandchild due to arrive. Safe travels and enjoy your trip.

Get better soon

Get well wishes go to Neil Knox-Whitehead, Derick le Roux (had surgery) and Beulah Girdwood, who fractured her tibia and is in plaster for six to eight weeks. And all this wind and dust has caused some eye infections and irritations, so be careful.

Happy occasions

Congratulations to Neil and Lyndee van Eeden, who celebrated their 28th anniversary on November 10. Birthday wishes this week go to gorgeous baby Stella Jade Peterson, (who turned one on November 11th), Zelda Coetzee (13th), Gary Baker (14th), Richard Farrell (18th) and Mike Davies and Dot Winrow on the 20th .

All news to Leila.
