Veronique earns her KZN colours for cricket

The young cricketer was recently selected for the KZN Girls U13 invitational team in the Regional Primary Schools’ Cricket Tournament in Pretoria.

Veronique du Plooy, head girl of St Francis Primary, has achieved her KZN colours in cricket.

The young cricketer was recently selected for the KZN Girls U13 invitational team in the Regional Primary Schools’ Cricket Tournament in Pretoria from November 30 until December 4.

Veronique has been coached by Clinton Moodley of Park Rynie for the last seven years and has graduated from Mini-Cricket, taking to hard ball cricket with ease. Her passion and dedication for the sport have also helped her reach a milestone as a cricketer.

“I am ecstatic that Veronique has achieved her KZN colours and it is, of course, more special considering all the challenges facing women in sport and woment’s cricket,” said Clinton.

Veronique, who was overjoyed with her achievement, gave thanks to her ‘super coach’ who has been there from the beginning of her cricket career. “I am grateful for my coach pushing me to do better each time, to reach my goals and for taking me to Durban for practice and selections,” she said.
