According to founder and organiser, Sibusiso Makhanya of Gamalakhe, the event was for a good cause.

“The fun run/walk supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and pupils who are in need of school uniforms,” he explained.

Thompson Motors was one of the sponsors. Showing their support are (from left) sales manager Jana Potgieter and sales executives Bianca-May Theunissen and Danny O’ Dea.

Close to a hundred people took part in the event.

There were two distances – 7km and 12km and the route was an amazing experience through Gamalakhe before finishing back at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre.
