The town first held a street carnival to celebrate its 80th anniversary and it proved to be so popular that it was brought back as an annual happening.

Party people strolled down one of Southbroom’s trendiest streets, donned in their favourite Mardi Gras gear and dancing shoes, for a night they would never forget.

Johan and Vicky Wentzel have a splendid time.

Dawne Murry, who was instrumental in organising the very first Southbroom street party in Eagle Street in 2013, said: “The party this year had close to 300 people enjoying a three-course meal and wonderful music by Winston Smile.”

In a party mood are Anne and John Kinghorn.

The event also helped promote the local economy and the town’s businesses.

Looking foward to a wonderful evening are the Purtell family (from left) Gary, Deanne and Renee.

“We strive to support our businesses. This event has brought so much positive feedback from all our businesses and cultural entities,” added Ms Murry.
