Captain Mfeka signs off from Margate Police Station
One of the South Coast's most popular policemen has retired.

Two police officers from Margate Saps, Captain Gerald Mfeka and SAC Aileen Wilson, bade a sad goodbye to their colleagues and friends at St Michael’s Sands Hotel recently.

Police spokesman for the Margate area, Capt Mfeka had served with the organisation for 24 years.
He gained a wealth of experience from working in various fields such as crime prevention, human resource management and media relations. It was unanimously agreed that his calm nature and sincere smile will be missed.
Capt Mfeka is married to Sibongile and the couple has three children.

“I wish to thank all my colleagues for supporting me throughout my years at the Saps. I have certainly built my second family with the organisation but now I need time to spend with my family. I will certainly miss my media colleagues, especially all the journalists I worked with, and not forgetting the community of the South Coast,” he said.
SAC Aileen Wilson joined the Saps in 1993 as a telecommunications operator and also worked in loss management and registry. She has two sons and a daughter who have, she said, been her constant support over the years.
The farewell function was attended by officers from Port Shepstone and Margate as well as the retirees’ family and friends.
Guests included Brigadier William Slabbert, station commander of Saps Margate, who reminded the gathering how important it was to commend and thank staff who had made a positive impact on their lives now and not wait to do so at their memorial services.
A number of speeches by senior management and colleagues recounted all the good times and fond memories shared and impressed on everyone how much the officers will be missed.
