Last catch as ‘Sardine Mike’ bows out

He served the KZN Sharks Board for exactly 40 years and 10 months

The voice most quoted during the annual Sardine Run retired last month after serving on the KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board for more than four decades.

The legendary Mike Anderson-Reade was appointed on January 16, 1978, and loyally served the KZN Sharks Board for exactly 40 years and 10 months.

Mike has been the head and/or in charge of the operations division for many years.

The KZN Sharks Board chairman, Sipho Mkhize, chief executive officer, Mthokozisi Radebe, management and staff, paid tribute to Mike, saying he performed his duties with passion, love and dedication and will be missed.
