He came from very humble beginnings and yet was able to establish himself in the business world through hard work and his commitment to integrity, honesty and good governance.

His outstanding quality was that he was prepared to share the fruits of his success with the community and especially the needy through his sense of social responsibility.

He was a benefactor to many causes while he ran his security and funeral businesses in Port Shepstone.

In his younger days, he was a keen sportsman and supporter of Albersville United Football Club.

The African National Congress, Lower South Coast Region is saddened by his death.

Spokesman Selvan Chetty said Mr Naicker was an active member of the community and served on various community and political structures.

He was the former chairman of the ANC branch in Ward 12, as well as deputy chairman of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) cluster for Port Shepstone.

“He was known for his charitable heart and dedication to our community, always helping those in need. Despite his failing health, he continued to assist those who called on him for advice. The leadership of the party expresses its sincere condolences to the Naicker family,” said Mr Chetty.

Mr Naicker is survived by his wife Radha and daughters Karessa and Renessa, his sister Rookmoney and brothers Sagren and Logan.

His funeral was held at Radiant Life Ministries in Palmview last Thursday.
