Masters Interpro inspires Ugu tennis players

Six Ugu players made the trip to the Cape.

Several South Coast tennis players returned with medals from the 2026 Masters Interpro 60-75.

This was held in Eden in the Western Cape from May 11 to 15 with KZN sending three teams.

The KZN 70A team played in the 70B Cup division and came second, earning a silver medal.

KZN 70A (from left) Ian Ackerman, Cathy Kirton, Pumla Xotyeni and Raj Naganna.

This team comprised Umtentweni players Ian Ackerman, Cathy Kirton and Raj Naganna, as well as Pumla Xotyeni.

The KZN 60A team played in the 60A Cup division and came third, securing the bronze medal.

KZN 60A (from left) Martyn Nagtegaal, Neville Wright, Ronel Botha and Susanne Roos.

Martyn Nagtegaal (Uvongo) was the only local, teaming up with Neville Wright, Ronel Botha and Susanne Roos.

The KZN 60B played in the 60B Cup division but unfortunately were not able to win a medal this time around.

Renee Purtell (Southbroom) and Johan van Niekerk (Uvongo) were the two locals in this team, joined by Braam de Villiers and Michelle Sykes.
