Scottburgh’s ‘Florence Nightingale’ applies healing hands
Mary was called he assist a sub-adult female brown snake eagle last Sunday.
Not content with her day job of healing the minds and bodies of residents at a nearby rehab centre, Mary Moffat, a Scottburgh South resident and former CROW volunteer has also taken to caring for the sick, injured and orphaned wildlife that finds its way to her door.
Mary was recently called to assist a sub-adult female brown snake eagle. The bird had collapsed on a Park Rynie driveway.
After a good meal and an overnight rest in Mary’s shower cubicle, the bird was collected by Ben Hoffman of the Camperdown Raptor Rescue Centre who made a special trip down to Scottburgh to ensure the eagle received expert care.
