Man jailed for murder of boy (3)

A shoe found at the scene was identified by the child’s father as having been worn by the child at the time he went missing.

Simbongile Madikizela (24) was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Ramsgate High Court for the murder of a three year old boy from Louisiana in 2017.

It was later discovered that he had been kidnapped and murdered by Madikizela, who claimed to be a traditional healer.

According to Port Shepstone police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge, Madikizela was traced to Mpisi location in Bizana where he was arrested on June 1.

He finally led police to a sugarcane plantation in Louisiana where he had buried the little boy’s body.

“The suspect remained in police custody during his trial and was sentenced to life imprisonment on January 21 for murder and an additional five years for kidnapping,” said Capt Mpinge.

Detective Sifiso Gigaba of FCS Port Shepstone was the investigating officer.
