Reprieve for embattled police unit
Mr Naidoo said he would obey the High Court decision to allow the Saps unit to remain on his property until March 20.
The Saps Vehicle Identification and Safeguarding unit in Marburg has been handed a stay of execution.
On Monday last week, following a drawn-out battle over the non-payment of rent, the Sheriff of the High Court served the unit with a warrant of ejectment.
However, on Tuesday this week, the department of public works stopped the eviction with an urgent High Court application.
Landlord Sean Naidoo of Silver Moon Investments 145cc t/a Ocean Echo Properties did not oppose the application as it was the same High Court that ruled the that Saps was in illegal occupation of his property from April 2017, and it was the High Court that issued not one but two eviction orders against the occupiers of Mr Naidoo’s property.
Mr Naidoo said he would obey the High Court decision to allow the Saps unit to remain on his property until March 20.
