Head-on collision leaves one passenger dead on the N2 Wilson’s Cutting

The driver of the car was trapped and had to be extricated with rescue tools by the crew from Hibiscus Fire and Rescue

A collision involving a taxi and a motor vehicle on the N2 at Wilson’s Cutting left one person dead on Sunday evening.

Craig Botha, spokesman for Kwazulu Private Ambulance said two vehicles collided head-on, leaving two people in the car trapped.

“One passenger from the car was declared dead on scene, while the driver and second passenger sustained severe injuries. The driver was extricated with rescue tools by the crew from Hibiscus Fire and Rescue.”

They were treated and transported to Murchison Hospital.

On Saturday, paramedics responded to an accident on the R61 near Sea Slopes Road.

“One person suffered moderate injuries and the other two minor injuries. The patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital,” said Mr Botha.
