One man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman in Deepvale Road, Marburg last Saturday night.
Three women were standing near a school at about 2am when they were approached by two men.

According to police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge the men took two of the women into the bush just below the school grounds while the third woman remained at the roadside.
“Shortly thereafter, witnesses heard screaming coming from the direction of the bush, after which one man emerged. A local security company’s guards who were patrolling the area were stopped by the witnesses who pointed out where they had heard the screams.
“The security officers found one of the women there, dead. She had bruising on her neck and throat. They immediately located the suspect some 40 metres from the scene,” said Capt Mpinge.
The second woman was unharmed.
Police were called and the 30-year-old suspect was handed over. The motive for the attack is not clear at this stage.
The man will appear in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder.
The second suspect is still at large.
An okapi knife and a reinforced metal rod were recovered from the suspect.
