A family was asleep in their Scottburgh home on March 31 when the husband was awoken at 3am by his dogs barking frantically in the kitchen.
“When he approached the kitchen he saw a man, who had his face covered, jump over the counter top,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.
The intruder broke the glass of the back door to try and escape, but was stopped by the burglar guards. He turned and ran towards the man.
