Umkomaas Saps officers were patrolling the R102 Ilfracombe near the Northbank turn-off when they noticed a vehicle parked at the side of the road.
As soon as the man in the vehicle spotted the police approaching, he sped off and turned into the Northbank beach parking lot. The police followed.

They stopped the vehicle and asked the driver to alight. When he was searched, he was found to be in possession of 161 whoonga capsules and nine pieces of rock cocaine as well as a substantial sum of cash.
He was arrested and taken to Umkomaas police station. Police are investigating.
