Hibberdene Academy pupils conquer their fear

Hibberdene Academy’s gr R and 4 classes recently visited Pure Venom Snake Park in Izotsha.

Pupils were anxious at first, but once the value of these reptiles to the environment had been explained and demonstrated by expert snake handlers, they were less afraid.

Most were fascinated by the creatures and would enjoy a return visit.

The academy sincerely thanks management and crew members at Pure Venom for their excellent contribution towards creating awareness of local environments and its wildlife.

The recent matric dance was held at The Barn in rural Hibberdene. The hall, décor and food was expertly organised and planned by teachers Merle Horwood and Adri Theron, ably assisted by gr 11 girls.

Matrics and their partners were elegantly dressed and truly epitomised different cultures in South Africa.

Gr 12 pupils sincerely thank their teachers for organising such a wonderful function, as well as Ursula Bennett for her contribution towards the after-party.
