Breaking: Merlewood Secondary pupils on strike [VIDEO]
Pupils claim to have been without history and geography teachers for two months.

Pupils at Merlewood Secondary embarked on protest action outside the school gates earlier today.
The chief reason for the protest, they say, is the lack of adequate teaching staff. According to the pupils, they have been without both history and geography teachers for two months.
They claim no substitute teacher has been appointed and they are concerned as examinations are due to be written soon.

School principal Joe Venter said he was unable to comment but confirmed that officials from the Department of Education were en route to the school.
This is an evolving story and will be updated as more information comes to hand.
