Unconfirmed reports reports just in indicate that at least six people have been killed in an accident on the R612 in Umzinto in the direction of Braemar.
Another 11 people have reportedly been injured.
Emergency services are at the scene and both lanes of the road are closed to traffic.
Confirmation and official comment is awaited.
